The Government wants to help you to turn electric
The Government currently supports the purchase electric cars and vehicles with the Plug-in Vehicle Grant. The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has a list of eligible vehicles.
Alongside the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme to assist with costs of installation of a home charger as well as the Workplace Charging Scheme.
The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme
OLEV electric home charge scheme grant contributes towards the installation of a home charger for plug-in vehicles.
The grant is a 75% contribution towards the cost of one chargepoint and its installation up to a maximum of £350 (including VAT) per household/ per eligible vehicle for installations that take place on or after the 1st of April 2020
OLEV Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme
Eligibility Checklist:
- The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme provides a grant for individuals who have taken keepership of a new or second hand eligible electric vehicle on or after 1 October 2016 as long as they have not claimed against the previous chargepoint schemes.
- Your electric vehicle is eligible if it appears on the OLEV eligibility list
- The installation address must have designated private off-street parking
